A rare large late 17th Century English silver champleve dial verge with visible mock pendulum in silver pair cases. Unusual reversed deep full plate fire gilt movement, the back signed in the centre and decoratively engraved with two grotesque masks. Broad Egyptian pillars with pierced galleries above, one replaced by a later turned pillar. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Signed silver champleve dial, an aperture below the chapter revealing the mock pendulum bob on the steel balance above the engraved plate. Offset chapter of Roman and Arabic numerals, the silver regulator dial visible through an aperture at four o'clock. Blue steel beetle and poker hands. Matching silver pair cases, split bezel, silver pendant and ring bow. Plain silver outer with square hinge, maker's mark “CC”, a crown above.
An unusual and interesting English watch displaying the swinging mock pendulum on the dial. William Harrison, apprenticed 1692, free of the Clockmakers Company 1699
