Diamond Set Enamelled Ball Watch and Brooch

A fine late 19^th Century Swiss enamelled ball watch in the form of an apple set with diamonds and matching brooch. Unusual keyless gilt movement constructed with the train wheels above the going barrel. Small white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, the 12 o’clock marking in red, gilt minute markings, blue steel hands. The case is constructed in three parts, the gold middle with a row of diamonds The two gold hemispheres with applied gold foliate decoration set with diamonds on an engine turned ground. Between the foliate decoration shaded translucent and red enamel. The watch wound and set by turning the top hemisphere of the case in relation to the lower hemisphere. Fine matching diamond set gold and enamel brooch formed to resemble leaves and a flower. In a shaped red morocco gilt decorated presentation case lined with black velvet.

A late 19th century Swiss minute repeating chronograph in a large gold full hunter case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Push button minute repeating on two polished steel gongs, visible centrifugal regulator to the repeating train. White enamel dial with flyback centre seconds chronograph, subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gilt hands. Substantial plain 14 carat full hunter gold case. Large button at six o’clock for the minute repeat and a smaller button at two o’clock for the flyback chronograph. Gold cuvette engraved with details of the watch and medals won.

An early 20^th Century desk set comprising a goliath watch and matching barometer fitted in a stand with thermometer. The watch with a large keyless gilt bar movement, going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain nickelled open face case. The barometer in a similarly sized nickle case housing an aneroid mechanism. White enamel marked in inches of mercury and weather. Small pointer in the rotating bezel to record the current reading. Morocco covered case lined with green velvet to house the watch and barometer, easel stand. The front covered with a silver face hallmarked in Birmingham, a small mercury thermometer at its centre.

White enamel dial marked in inches of mercury and the type of weather expected. Both fitted in a black morocco covered case with easel stand and lined in green velvet. Plain silver mask to the front with a central blue spirit thermometer marked in Fahrenheit.

Small gold slide in the band to stop the watch acting on the balance, maker's mark “BB” in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
