Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Engine turned gold dial with Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Small 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle. The back decorated with translucent green enamel over an engine turned ground, small central oval set with diamonds. Wound and set through the gold cuvette, maker’s mark “D & C”. Rectangular presentation case fitted for the watch and a spare enamel dial.

Button in the pendant to open the sprung back, polychrome enamel decoration of a floral bouquet on a light blue ground, scalloped border. Wound and set through the gold cuvette.

A fine 19th Century English freesprung lever in a substantial gold half hunter case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with garnet endstone. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, ribbed middle. Clip on back engraved with a coat of arms and monogram below. Inside a dedication to their son dated May 1929, maker’s mark "RO" in an oval, and number corresponding to that on the movement.

A small late 19 Century Swiss lever by Patek Philippe in a gold and enamel half hunter case. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel, frosted steel wolfs teeth winding work. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, the lever with counterbalance extension arms extended beyond the pallets. Escape pivots with endstones in a polished steel setting. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Small 18 carat gold and enamel half hunter case. The chapter ring on the front cover in light pink translucent enamel over an engine turned ground, dark blue Roman numerals. Around the chapter a border of blue forget-me-nots. The back cover similarly decorated, centred with a polychrome bouquet of flowers. Signed and numbered gold cuvette, maker’s mark “PP & Co” in a rectangle.

Silver Half Hunter Pair Cased Verge
A 19th Century English verge in a silver half hunter pair cases. Full plate fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved round cock, polished steel regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance. Half hunter style white enamel dial with two concentric chapters of Roman numerals, only the inner showing unless the front cover is opened. Gold half hunter hands. Matching silver pair cases, the inner with a broad border to the front bezel, small glazed aperture at the centre. Silver pendant and bow, maker's mark “HWG” in conjoined circles and number corresponding to that on the movement.

A fine late 19th Century English freesprung centre seconds keyless reverse fusee with power reserve indication by Kullberg in a gold open face case. Gilt three quarter plate centre seconds keyless movement with reverse fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Unusual plain skeletonised bridge cock with diamond endstone in a blue steel setting. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones set in a circular bridge. The centre seconds pinion also with an endstone. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with centre seconds, sector below twelve for 30 hour power reserve indication. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker’s mark “JM” in an oval. Small gold hand set button under the back cover. Plain gold cuvette with apertures for winding and set by key if desired. Accompanied by a small morocco covered case with 9 carat gold repousse mask hallmarked Birmingham 1901. Easel stand for use as a desk clock.

A late 19th Century Swiss cylinder in an unusual diamond set gold bracelet. Keywind gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground for the dial, gilt Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Circular diamond set bezel hinges from the bracelet with the movement and gold cuvette fitted with a small turnbuckle to wind the watch. The band of the bracelet formed from three tapered rectangular strands partly set with small diamonds. Hinged at the side, gold clasp with fine safety chain.

Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Small white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Fine gold and enamel case in the form of a beetle, the diamond and pearl set translucent red enamel wings opened by depressing a button in the tail to reveal the dial. The head chased and engraved with champleve black enamel, the eyes represented by green stones. The underside of the beetle realistically portrayed with finely chased and engraved legs applied to the hinged cover. Wound and set through the gold oval cuvette. Oval gold loop for a chain.

Large Silver Patent 8 Day Swiss Lever
A very large late 19th Century Swiss lever watch of 8 days duration in a silver open face case and travelling case. Reversed three quarter plate gilt keyless movement. Compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Polished steel index adjusted by removing the front bezel. Club tooth straight line lever escapement. Opening the back single cover reveals an open centrally placed barrel with a visible blue steel mainspring under a glass, almost the diameter of the movement, wound by a folding key. In the centre a brass thumb wheel is used to set the hands. Large white enamel dial with bold Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial large plain silver open face case, maker's mark “HG” in an oval. In a fitted red morocco case lined with velvet, signs of an easel stand, now lacking.
Jacot and Bovet took out the Swiss patent for this mechanism (No 496) in February 1896. Although the hallmark pre-dates the patent, the case is undoubtedly original to the movement. White enamel dial with a monochrome view over Lake Geneva depicting the bridge and buildings on the far bank., mountains in the background. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Heavy circular brass case suitable for use as a paperweight and also with sliding dovetail mount to enable the clock to be hung on the wall. Very thick bevelled flat glass.
