Description
A small late 19th Century Swiss lever by Patek Philippe in an unusual gold open face case with enamel portrait on the cuvette. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel, steel wolfs teeth winding work. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, the lever with counterbalance extension arms extended beyond the pallets. Escape pivots with endstones in a polished steel setting. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman and Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Small engine turned 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle, the back with a monogram and engraved inside with the date “30 de Novembero 1883”. The gold cuvette with an enamel portrait of a gentleman apparently produced by a photographic technique. Maker's mark “PP.Co” in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
