Underpainted Horn English Pair Case

A late 18^th Century English verge in gilt metal and underpainted horn pair cases.  Full plate fire gilt movement with round pillars.  Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  White enamel dial with Roman numerals, Arabic numerals at the quarters, gilt beetle and poker hands.  Plain gilt metal inner case, gilt pendant and bow.  Gilt metal outer covered in translucent horn underpainted with an oval scene of Britannia standing on the shore as a British naval ship departs.  The scene and bezel decorated with ferns.
