Description

A late 19th Century Swiss cylinder with unusual 24 hour dial in a silver engine turned open face case.  Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Unusual dial, silvered mask marked “Patent”, with eleven circular apertures and small seconds subsidiary at six o’clock, blue steel hands.  The apertures in the mask either show black Roman numerals from one to twelve or red Arabic numerals thirteen to twenty four on a white enamel ring.  The indication is changed by a silver slide in the band of the case.  Engine turned silver open face case with ribbed middle, wound and set through the silver cuvette
