Description
A late 19th Century Swiss lever with moonphase calendar in a glass ball clock. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Large white enamel dial with subsidiaries for seconds combined with moonphase, day, date and month. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain silver case with flat glass to the front, maker's mark “RF&Co”. The back a hemisphere of glass with a flat to allow the clock to stand. Thumb sets for the time and calendar in the band.
