Small Two Colour Gold Verge and Chatelaine

A small late 18^th Century verge by Lepine in a decorative two colour gold case and chatelaine.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  Signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, pierced gilt hands.  Small two colour gold case, the bezels chased and engraved.  Radially engine turned gold back with a representation of a basket, crossed scythe and spade in deep relief set in the centre of the back.  Gold bow and pendant with a button to open the glazed front bezel.  Gold chatelaine, the buckle and clip joined by four gold chains of geometrically cut double links.  The watch suspended from a decorative gold swivel hinged clip secured by a threaded collar.  Steel clip face with a chased and engraved plate depicting a bust of a classical gentleman.  The clip also supporting two short matching chains both with smaller versions of the hinged clip for the watch.
