Description
A 19th century Swiss cylinder with small compass in a silver open face case. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with going barrel. The top plate skeletonised and engraved wish a scene of a town and inset with a small compass. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Silver chased and engraved open face case, the back depicting a lakeside scene. Wound and set through the gilt cuvette engraved “Chronometre” and pierced to reveal the compass.
