Description
A large early 19th Century French cylinder clockwatch in a silver open face case. Full plate gilt movement with two large resting barrels, one for the going train, the other for strike. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Hour and half hour striking in passing and repeating the last hour on demand by a button in the pendant on a single blue steel gong. Signed engine turned silver dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain silver open face case with engine turned middle, wound through the sprung gilt metal cuvette. Strike silent lever under the front bezel.
