A rare mid 19th Century English fusee lever with windmill automaton dial in silver pair cases. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement. Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock, the table engraved with the movement number, diamond endstone, blue steel Bosley regulator. Plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling. White enamel dial with polychrome enamel scene depicting a windmill with three figures walking around the gallery. The sails of the windmill are mounted on the seconds pivot and rotates as the watch runs. Matching silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow. The back of the inner case engraved “Patent Lever – Jewell’d in 15 Actions”. The outer with initialled cartouche in engraved garter and belt centre. Maker’s mark “IT” and number corresponding to that on the movement.
