A large late 18th Century English calendar verge in silver pair cases. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, large diamond endstone, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, concentric date calendar, fine gilt hands. Matching silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow, maker's mark "TC" in a rectangle.
An attractive, unusually large example of an English verge with square pillars. In excellent overall condition.
