Description

A rare 19th Century English keyless fusee chronometer in a silver wristwatch case.  Gilt half plate keyless movement with fusee and chain. Harrison's maintaining power. Engraved cock with diamond endstone.  Heavy compensation balance employing quarter timing nuts, freesprung helical blue steel hairspring.  Earnshaw spring detent chronometer escapement, escape pivots with endstones. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Purpose made silver wristwatch case with solid lugs, gilt winding button, brown leather strap.

A novel use for a small keyless fusee chronometer movement.  Perhaps not the most suitable of escapements for a wristwatch it would serve for occasional evening use as an interesting alternative to modern mass produced timepieces.  The case is unmarked but tests as silver
