Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator, uncut balance employing quarter timing nuts, overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed silvered dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Small turned brass bowl with knurled screw bezel, Brass crown for mind and set. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, brass ratchet key bearing the serial number. Three tier mahogany box, inside the middle tier a rectangular plate detailing instructions on how to use the watch and set the hands. The weighted brass screw base engraved “MTD Watch – Bureau of Ship – US Navy – N5709-1942”. The serial number repeated on the bowl and bezel.
