A rare mid 19th Century Swiss Independent seconds quarter repeating lever in a gold full hunter case. Keywind gilt bar movement with two suspended going barrels, the larger for the going train. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. The three trains fully jewelled, escape, lever and seconds fly pivots with endstones. Slide quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs. White enamel dial with independent jump centre seconds, Roman numerals, fine blue steel Breguet hands. Engine turned 18 carat full hunter case with coin edge middle, recessed gold slide for the quarter repeat and a small slide for the independent centre seconds. Wound and set through the signed gold cuvette, maker's mark “HB” in an oval.
