A mid 18^th Century French verge in a rare steel case with three colour gold decoration and matching chatelaine.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Large silver regulator dial.  Square baluster pillars.  Winding through the white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, pierced gilt hands.  Rare gunmetal steel consular case, narrow gold bezels and gold hinge.  Front bezel and back with an applied gold geometric border.  In the centre of the back applied three colour gold decoration of a couple in a garden.  Attractive matching gunmetal steel chatelaine, the pierced buckle and oval cartouches decorated in a similar manner to the watch.
