A rare late 19th Century grande sonnerie clockwatch in a gold full hunter case. Unusual damascened nickelled three quarter plate keyless movement with a crescent shaped window in the plate. Single going barrel driving both striking and going trains. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Striking hours and quarters in passing on two polished steel gongs. Repeat release button in the band, Strike – Silent lever under the front cover. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, black Roman and red Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Engine turned 18 carat full hunter case, applied gold monogram on the front cover. Signed gold cuvette and glazed cover to the movement, maker's mark “EHJ & Co” in a shield supported by a dragon.
