Description
A fine mid 18th Century French verge in an engine turned consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Large finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Pentagonal baluster pillars. Winding through the white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, pierced gold hands, the minute hand shaped to clear the winding square. Fine gold consular case engine turned in an attractive geometric pattern.
A good example of a mid 18th Century French verge in excellent overall condition.
