A fine early 19th Century French quarter repeating cylinder with calendar in a gold open face case. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement, suspended going barrel with polished steel stopwork. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Fine polished steel quarter repeating work visible above the plate striking on two polished steel square section gongs. White enamel dial with central chapter indication the day of the month, Arabic numerals, fine blue steel hands. Substantial plain18 carat open face case with ribbed middle, maker's mark “LC” in a diamond. Push pendant for the quarter repeat, locking slide in the band. Wound through the signed gilt metal cuvette.
