An early 19th Century Swiss quarter repeating cylinder in a rare pearl encrusted gold open face case. Skeletonised three quarter plate gilt keywind movement, suspended going barrel with polished steel stopwork. Plain cock with blue steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Push pendant quarter repeating on two rectangular section polished steel gongs. Gold engine turned dial, Roman numerals, gold hands. Fine gold open face case the bezels set with a row of large split pearls. The back encrusted with graduated split pearls in a geometric pattern. The background of the design filled with many hundreds of tiny split pearls entirely covering the back. Trefoil bow, wound and set through the gold cuvette. Pearl set key and short gold chain.

An early 19th Century rare pearl and ruby encrusted gold open face watch. Fitted with a Swiss cylinder Keywind gilt bar movement, plain cock with polished steel regulator. Wound through the gilt dial with Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Fine gold open face case the bezels set with a row of pink rubies each circled by split pearls. The back encrusted with graduated split pearls in a geometric pattern set around a central ruby. The background of the design filled with many hundreds of tiny split pearls entirely covering the back. Pearl set pendant, ruby and pearl set bow. Green morocco covered presentation case.

Fine Gold Pearl Set Watch and Pendant
A mid 19th Century Swiss cylinder in a fine gold case encrusted with split pearls with matching pendant. Unusual gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with resting barrel. Sector shaped cock with polished steel regulator and coqueret set with a garnet endstone. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Fine engine turned gold dial, the Roman numerals and minute marking set with split pearls, gold hands. Very fine open face encrusted with split pearls, sprung front bezel opened by depressing a button in the pendant. The back entirely covered in split pearls in a pattern radiating in a cluster of pearls below the pendant. Set in a series of graduated rows from 0.7 mm to 3.5 mm at the edge. The space between the large split pearls filled with small pearls. Front bezel set with a single row of large split pears each surrounded by more split pearls. Gold pendant also encrusted with split pearls, pearl set gold bow. Matching gold pin and bar with heart shaped centre supporting a spring clip all set with graduated split pearls. Large gold oval key with engine turned centre. In fitted gilt tooled red morocco covered case marked “No. 5050” from the retailer Desoutter of Hanover Street, London.

Rare Tic-Tac Escapement Alarm
A very rare mid 19th Century tic-tac escapement alarm in a nickle drum case. Unusual full plate brass movement with a single barrel powering both the alarm and going trains. Plain cock with blue steel coqueret, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring set in a circular aperture in the plate. Very rare tic-tac escapement where the English lever escape wheel acts directly on a polished steel roller on the balance staff. The tooth of the escape wheel rests on the roller for most of the vibration, giving impulse only in one direction as a slot in it passes. Single hammer for the alarm striking on the side of the case which acts as a rudimentary bell. Silvered dial with black waxed Roman numerals. Central alarm disk with waxed pointer, thumb piece at the back for adjustment. Single blue steel hand for the hours only. Nickle drum case with fixed glass. Outer morocco slip travelling case, the top apparently lost.

Harrison’s maintaining power, blue steel barrel ratchet wheel and double toothed click on the barrel bridge. Six spoke train wheels. Plain cock, diamond endstone in a blue steel setting, two arm compensation balance with two wedge shaped weights and four timing nuts. Freesprung blue steel helical hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold hands. Substantial plain silver open face case, maker’s mark “TH”.

A mid 19th Century English two day marine chronometer by Dent with Airy’s bar in a mahogany box. Full plate brass keywind fusee movement, four turned pillars secured by blue steel screws, engraved broad Ministry arrow. Harrison’s maintaining power with blue steel click and spring, blue steel barrel ratchet wheel and double toothed click on the barrel bridge. Plain brass cock, diamond endstone, two arm compensation balance with two circular weights and two timing nuts, Airy’s bar with two smaller circular weights resting against the rim. Freesprung palladium helical hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. The movement secured to the gilt dial plate by three blue steel screws. Engraved signed and numbered silvered brass dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication. Broad Ministry arrow in the seconds subsidiary, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Signed and numbered turned brass bowl, sprung hinged dust cover to the winding aperture. Screw brass bezel with flat glass. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, numbered brass ratchet key. Two tier mahogany box, the top lid having been removed in common with most Ministry marine chronometers. Signed and numbered circular plaque with the broad Ministry arrow, folding brass handles.

White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, ribbed middle. Clip on back engraved with a coat of arms and monogram below. Inside a dedication to their son dated May 1929, maker’s mark "RO" in an oval, and number corresponding to that on the movement.

Signed and numbered white enamel dial with centre seconds, sector below twelve for 30 hour power reserve indication. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker’s mark “JM” in an oval. Small gold hand set button under the back cover. Plain gold cuvette with apertures for winding and set by key if desired. Accompanied by a small morocco covered case with 9 carat gold repousse mask hallmarked Birmingham 1901. Easel stand for use as a desk clock.
