Chased and engraved cock, representation of a serpent on the bell shaped table, garnet endstone in a blue steel setting, marked “Patent” on the foot. Blue steel Bosley regulator. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Screwed in jewelling to the third and fourth wheels. Rack lever escapement with adjustable slides to the lever pivots, escape pivots with endstones. White enamel dial marked “Patent”, subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, fine gold Breguet hands. Matching plain silver pair cases, silver oval pendant and bow, maker’s mark “IR”.

A fine early 19^th Century Swiss duplex made for the Chinese market in a gold and enamel case. Keywind gilt bar movement with richly engraved plate, bridges and suspended going barrel, polished steel regulator, blue steel stop work and screws. Polished steel three arm balance with three blue steel affixes, spiral hairspring. Crab tooth duplex escapement, the steel escape wheel with two locking teeth so that the watch will appear to beat seconds. White enamel dial with subsidiaries for two time zones, both with Roman numerals, Seconds beating both for centre seconds and subsidiary seconds, blue steel seconds hand and gilt Breguet hands. Large gold and enamel open face case, fine polychrome enamel scene of a classically dressed couple and child. Gold bezel decorated with translucent red, white and blue champleve enamel. Matching gold and enamel pendant and bow. Glazed cover to the movement with sprung engraved gilt bezel.

Turkish Market Gold & Enamel Watch with Two Dials

An early 19^th Century French cylinder in a fine gold and enamel open face case with choice of alternative dial. Keywind gilt Lepine calibre movement with suspended going barrel. Plain cock with blue steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Unusual construction with the steel escape wheel situated under the dial, polished steel cylinder. The watch is presented with two silver dials, both with engine turned centres. The dial fitted to the watch has Turkish numerals only. The alternative dial has Roman numerals and minute markings. Blue steel Breguet hands. Attractive and substantial 18 carat open face case of scalloped form. The back formed by twelve sections enamelled with alternating light blue or pink grounds. The panels with pink grounds with polychrome enamel floral decoration while the light blue panels depict musical instruments etc. The scalloped form and decoration repeated on the front bezel. Gold and enamel bow and pendant with a button to open the sprung back cover. Wound and set through the signed gold cuvette. In a fitted red morocco gilt decorated presentation case lined with navy velvet to house both the watch and spare dial.
