Gold and Enamel Repeater with Chatelaine
A mid 18th Century English half quarter repeating cylinder in gold and enamel pair cases and matching chatelaine. Full plate fire gilt movement with signed and numbered silver dust cover. Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting. Engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large escape wheel which appears to be gold. Push pendant half quarter repeating on bell in the case. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, gilt hands. 22 carat gold inner case, pierce and engraved sides, representation of a dove engraved in the centre. Gold push pendant with unusual horseshoe shaped bow. The movement released from the case by depressing a sprung steel button at six o’clock. Number of the watch engraved below the pendant, maker’s mark “HT” under the bell. Fine 22 carat gold and enamel outer case. The front bezel decorated in a geometric pattern of white and green champleve enamel repeated around the back. Central enamel oval cartouche of a classical urn draped with flowers on a pink ground. Surrounding the cartouche a tied ribbon and floral decoration of translucent green champleve enamel. Fine matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with gold decorated in enamel repeating the design on the case. Hanging from the clip are three matching gold faced cartouches joined by gold rings and small enamelled cartouches. The watch secured to the lowest cartouche by a hinge and swivel sprung gold clip with threaded safety collar. Four further chains of gold rings and small gold and enamelled cartouches also hang from the clip each terminating in a gold spring clip with threaded safety collar. Recent maroon morocco covered fitted display box. Lined in grey velvet, the chatelaine visible through the glazed lid, easel stand.

Diamond Set Gold French Quarter Repeating Cylinder
A small 18th Century French dumb quarter repeating cylinder in a diamond set gold consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with garnet endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel, jewelled pivots. Push pendant quarter repeating on small blocks in the case. Wound through the signed white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, the signature repeated again engraved on the dial plate edge. Fine diamond set hands. Fine three colour gold consular case set with diamonds. On the back a scene of a couple in a formal garden framed in an oval diamond set border. The two colour gold bezel with a row of diamonds opened by a small concealed pin at the edge. Gold push pendant, diamond set gold bow. Maker’s mark “XG” below a star in a rectangle.

Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock, garnet endstone in a polished steel setting. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Polished steel cylinder, large steel, escape wheel. Push pendant quarter repeating striking on two blocks in the case. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gold hands. Raised engraved brass edge to the dial signed “Ageron”. Gold and enamel consular case with gold push pendant and stirrup bow. Radially chased back with a circular polychrome enamel centre of floral decoration on a blue ground. Gold and enamel chatelaine. Hinged gilt clip to the buckle, polychrome ovals scene of cherubs on a blue background. Suspended from the buckle are three broad chains, decorated with translucent blue enamel oval shaped cartouches, and four fine pierced chains with diamond shaped cartouches. Central rectangular gold and translucent blue enamel cartouche centred by a small rectangular polychrome enamel scene of a reclining cherub within a border of split pearls. Three broad chains with translucent blue enamel oval shaped cartouches are supported by the cartouche, the centre one for the watch, the others for double sided gold and enamel oval decorations. The two long outer broad chains terminate in a key and a seal set with a plain cornelian both mounted on swivels and decorated with blue and white enamel.

Three colour gold consular case with fully restored circular polychrome enamel portrait of a young lady on the back. Surrounding the portrait a band of applied gold work set with diamonds and green enamel. Sprung front bezel opened by pressing a pin recessed in the edge, rare concealed hinge. Gold push pendant and bow.

A fine late 18th Century quarter repeating French virgule in a pearl set gold and enamel consular case with matching macaroni chatelaine. Unusual small full plate gilt fusee movement, the top plate constructed in sections giving more height for the repeating train and barrel. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel coqueret. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, blue steel index below, index on the plate. Rare virgule escapement, large brass escape wheel. Push pendant dumb quarter repeating on two blocks in the case. Winding through the white enamel dial with radially set Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Fine gold consular case, the bezel and back both set with a single row of large split pearls. Gilt decoration of an urn on the back on translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground. Matching macaroni gold and enamel chatelaine made up of four different shaped cartouches. All enamelled on both sides in various patterns, one bearing a small polychrome enamel scene. Red velvet covered presentation box signed for an Italian retailer.

Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Push pendant quarter repeating on a bell in the case. Wound through the white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, decorative stone set hands. Three colour gold consular case an oval garden scene on the back depicting a dog barking at a bird. Front bezel with applied gold decoration and set with a single row of white stones. Discretely pierced to allow the bell to sound clearly, “a toc” button in the front bezel and a slide beneath for dumb repeat.

A fine late 18th Century French quarter repeating cylinder with calendar in a gold and enamel consular case and matching chatelaine. Full plate gilt fusee movement, signed and numbered gilt dust cover pierced for the endstone and regulator. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Blued regulator dial with gold indicator. Polished steel cylinder, large steel escape wheel, pivots with screwed in jewelling. Push pendant dumb quarter repeating on blocks in the case. Signed white enamel dial with central day of the month calendar in red Arabic numerals. Black Arabic numerals for the hours and quarter minutes, blue steel calendar hand, gold beetle and poker hands. Raised brass edge to the dial signed “Gregson”. Fine and unusual gold and enamel consular case with hinged bezel and back cover both set within a recess of the body of the case with no discernable sign of a hinge. Opening either of them reveals the hinges to be set close to the movement. The small crescent of the bezels beyond the hinges moves below the recess in the body of the case. Two small recessed pins at three o’clock to open them independently. The bezels decorated with white and dark blue translucent champleve enamel. Oval cartouche of a floral bouquet finely painted in polychrome enamel. Border of dark blue translucent champleve enamel representing a ribbon tied in a bow at twelve. Fine matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with gold and enamel floral scene. Similarly decorated cartouche attached to the clip by a hinge. The watch secured to this by a swivel sprung gold clip with threaded safety collar. Two small gold and enamel cartouches also hang from the clip, each with a matching double sided gold and enamel key, one lacking the shaft. Recent black morocco covered fitted display box. Lined in red velvet, the chatelaine visible through the glazed lid, easel stand.

Rare Miniature Quarter Repeating Pendant Watch
A very rare late 18th Century Swiss quarter repeating cylinder with visible balance in a diamond set gold pendant. Small full plate rectangular movement with canted corners. Almost half of the top plate cut away to accommodate the small bell. Keywound resting barrel, Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Decorative balance, the rim set with small diamonds visible through the dial. Four of the five arms of the balance are cut through to all to allow access to the top balance pivot. Slide quarter repeating on a bell. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary of Roman numerals below the visible balance, blue steel Breguet hands. Small gold rectangular case with canted corners pierced and engraved to allow the bell to sound. Gold and enamel front bezel set with diamonds, gold bow set with small diamonds. Small steel lever at five o’clock for the repeat, sprung dust shutter to the slot. In a small fitted oval brown morocco gilt decorated presentation case signed for the retailer Russells. Lined with cream velvet the gold key is accessed by lifting the cushion.

Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with garnet endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Rare virgule escapement, large brass escape wheel. Push pendant dumb quarter repeating on two blocks in the case. Winding through the unusual white enamel dial with Roman numerals at the quarters, Arabic numerals between them. Decorative pierced gold hands. Fine gold consular case, translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground. The bezel and back both set with a single row of large split pearls. Applied white metal decoration on the back set with diamonds. Gold push pendant and bow. Fine matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with gold and champleve enamel, an oval in the centre between two split pearls One side supports the watch on two short chains, alternating square links decorated on both sides in gold and translucent dark blue enamel bordered in white. These terminate in a spring clip with threaded safety collar. The centre with a gold and enamel bell with tassels of graduated pearls supported by a row of pearls. The other side of the clip matching chain with two gold and enamel pearl set rectangular cartouches each set with a central split pearl. The lower cartouche bordered by a row of split pearls supports the accessories three further matching chains. The central chain with a matching gold and enamel oval key. The outer chains with slightly small versions of the tassel at the centre of the clip. Fitted in an unusually shaped red morocco covered case.
