Early Oval French Verge
A rare early 17th Century French pre-balance spring verge in a gilt and silver oval case. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with slender square baluster pillars. Fusee and gut with gilt barrel ratchet and elaborate click between the plates. Small pierced and engraved cock secured by a screw. Plain gilt dial engraved with Roman numerals, fine single blue steel hand in the form of a serpent. Four tabs on the dial locate it in the case and secured by two springs and latches at nine and three o’clock. Drum shaped gilt oval case, fixed pendant and ring bow, turned finial at six o’clock. The sides of the case with a band of applied silver engraved with foliage and reclining figures. Plain hinged gilt oval covers, gilding worn from the exterior surfaces. Inside the front cover a well preserved engraving of the Medici Family coat of arms.

A large late 17th Century Swiss verge with silver champleve dial in silver pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with Egyptian pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock depicting birds and foliage on the table, broad pierced and engraved foot. Plain steel balance, silver regulator disc. Signed silver champleve dial, chased and engraved centre depicting a lion and unicorn with crown above. Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Silver pair cases, plain inner case with silver pendant and ring bow, maker’s mark "AH" below a crown. Large silver outer case decorated in a geometric chased and engraved pattern and signed "ARPIN" next to the hinge. The cases punch marked with a small oval of a bird in numerous places including the pendant.

Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock with mask depicting birds and foliage on the table, broad pierced and engraved foot. Plain steel balance, silver regulator disc. Signed silver champleve dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Matching plain silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow. Both cases bearing the number corresponding to that on the movement and maker’s mark "TI" blow a crown. Outer case with seven joint square hinge and large faded monogram engraved on the back.

Matching plain silver pair cases, silver pendant and stirrup bow. Maker’s mark "DL" and the inner bearing the number corresponding to that on the movement.

A small late 18th Century Swiss verge in a diamond set gold and enamel case with matching chatelaine. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Winding through the white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gilt hands. Small gold consular case, the bezels decorated with applied gold beads. The back decorated with dark blue translucent enamel over an engine turned ground. Applied diamond set mask with a circular aperture to reveal the enamelled gold centre of the case. Silver gilt diamond set chatelaine. Oval buckle of dark blue translucent enamel over an engine turned ground, applied diamond set floral decoration and border. Five diamond set chains support the watch. Similarly decorated key and plain seal attached to two further chains.

Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Wound through the signed white enamel dial with Roman numerals, fine gold hands. Gold consular case, the bezels decorated in dark and light blue enamel and gilt diamond shaped pattern. The back with a polychrome enamel riverside scene depicting fishermen and a bridge. Rectangular gold pendant enamelled on two faces and marked with the number of the movement and "LG" on the other two.

Rare Miniature Quarter Repeating Pendant Watch
A very rare late 18th Century Swiss quarter repeating cylinder with visible balance in a diamond set gold pendant. Small full plate rectangular movement with canted corners. Almost half of the top plate cut away to accommodate the small bell. Keywound resting barrel, Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Decorative balance, the rim set with small diamonds visible through the dial. Four of the five arms of the balance are cut through to all to allow access to the top balance pivot. Slide quarter repeating on a bell. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary of Roman numerals below the visible balance, blue steel Breguet hands. Small gold rectangular case with canted corners pierced and engraved to allow the bell to sound. Gold and enamel front bezel set with diamonds, gold bow set with small diamonds. Small steel lever at five o’clock for the repeat, sprung dust shutter to the slot. In a small fitted oval brown morocco gilt decorated presentation case signed for the retailer Russells. Lined with cream velvet the gold key is accessed by lifting the cushion.

Gilt and Shagreen English Pedometer
A late 18th Century English pedometer in a shagreen and gilt consular case. Brass mechanism with star wheel and rocking bar actuated by a chain attached to a pulley. Sprung friction device compensating for large movements of the clip. Each step taken by the wearer advances the hand by one division. Signed white enamel dial the centre hand marked to one hundred steps. The two subsidiaries marked for one mile and twelve miles, Arabic numerals, fine blue steel hands. Gilt metal case covered in shagreen and decorated with gilt pique pins. Long rectangular section brass bar to attach the pedometer.

A late 18th Century English centre seconds cylinder by Prior in gilt metal pair cases. Full plate fire gilt movement, gilt dust cover pierced to revel the balance cock and regulator. Pierced and engraved cock, the base of the table with a large shell and a half moon at the edge, large diamond endstone in a blue steel setting secured by three screws. Pierced and engraved foot to the cock and plate for the silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large steel escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Fine white enamel centre seconds dial marked for seconds and fifths of seconds. Roman numerals, fine gold hands, the centre seconds hand situated between the hour and minute. Matching gilt metal pair cases, oval pendant and bow, maker’s mark "IR".

Turkish Market Gold & Enamel Watch with Two Dials
An early 19th Century French cylinder in a fine gold and enamel open face case with choice of alternative dial.  Keywind gilt Lepine calibre movement with suspended going barrel.  Plain cock with blue steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Unusual construction with the steel escape wheel situated under the dial, polished steel cylinder.  The watch is presented with two silver dials, both with engine turned centres.  The dial fitted to the watch has Turkish numerals only.  The alternative dial has Roman numerals and minute markings.  Blue steel Breguet hands.  Attractive and substantial 18 carat open face case of scalloped form.  The back formed by twelve sections enamelled with alternating light  blue or pink grounds.  The panels with pink grounds with polychrome enamel floral decoration while the light blue panels depict musical instruments etc.  The scalloped form and decoration repeated on the front bezel.  Gold and enamel bow and pendant with a button to open the sprung back cover.  Wound and set through the signed gold cuvette.  In a fitted red morocco gilt decorated presentation  case lined with navy velvet to house both the watch and spare dial.

Attractive matted gold dial with applied two colour gold minute markings and floral decoration to the centre. Applied gold Roman numerals, gilt hands. Substantial 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle. The bezels set with turquoise alternating with applied gold chased and engraved floral decoration. Matted gold back with profuse applied three colour gold decoration in a detailed chased and engraved floral pattern, the centre of the flowers set with turquoise. Turquoise set gold pendant and bow with applied gold decoration. Winding through the gold cuvette, unusually with crisp engine turning. Number corresponding to that on the movement, maker’s mark "LC". In a fitted square red morocco gilt decorated presentation case lined with grey suede, small gold key under the watch.
