Gilt Metal and Porcelain Watch Decoration

A large late 19th Century toy or decoration in the form of a watch. Hinged circular gilt metal frame set with two convex porcelain covers. The front with a representation of a watch dial, the numeral in cartouches at the edge. White centre with polychrome floral decoration. The back gilt in colour with a raised geometric pattern. The inner faces white, again with polychrome floral decoration. Tapered gilt metal pendant with fixed bow.

A rare and attractive piece. Apparently originally sold as a Christmas tree decoration.

Unusual Night Light Watch Holder

An unusual late 19^th Century German watch holder and night light in the form of a gas lamp post. Cast square base and body. The square lamp at the top of the post with clear glass candle holder. The cast hipped roof pierced to allow a small candle to burn inside. Small wire hook just below the lamp to hang the watch. (Watch not included)

A most interesting and unusual piece. It is doubtful that the candle would have lasted the whole night. As a modern replacement a small LED could probably be used in its place

Silver Watch Chain and Unusual Actor’s Fob

An early 20^th Century silver chain and fob depicting the patron saint of actors. The chain of large hollow oval links engraved around the edge. "T" bar close to one end of the chain and spring clip on the other. Short length of the chain to an unusual pierced cast silver fob depicting Saint Genesius. The Saint is holding a mask which swivels. On one side the mask bears a frown, on the other a smile. Around the scene "Saint Genesius – Guide my Destiny". Marked "Weston – Sterling" on the reverse.

An early 20^th Century French lever pearl and diamond set gold and enamel pendant watch with matching chain. Circular keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape pivots with endstones. Small circular signed silvered dial, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Gold oval case enamelled on both sides with translucent blue enamel over a decorative engine turned ground. The middle of the case set with a border of pearls, the winding button at six a pearl. The watch suspended from a pierced white metal bow set with small diamonds. Necklace formed from fine chains of white metal and navette shaped narrow gold and enamel links matching the watch.
