A mid 19th Century engraved Swiss lever in a decorative gold open face case. Richly engraved keywind bar movement, two colour gilding, engraved suspended going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, the lever with an unusual gold counterpoise with arrow heads. Escape and lever pivots with endstones in gold settings. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Fine slim engraved 18 carat open face case. The bezels engraved in a geometric pattern, the back with a scene of colonnades and house with a boat on a lake in the background. Unusual broad engine turned bands under both bezels. Wound and set through the richly engraved gold cuvette signed for the retailer. Engraved gold pendant and plain bow, faux English marks and maker’s mark “SB” in a shield.

Dent Marine Chronometer with Airy’s Bar
A mid 19th Century English two day marine chronometer by Dent with Airy’s bar in a mahogany box. Full plate brass keywind fusee movement, four turned pillars secured by blue steel screws, engraved broad Ministry arrow. Harrison’s maintaining power with blue steel click and spring, blue steel barrel ratchet wheel and double toothed click on the barrel bridge. Plain brass cock, diamond endstone, two arm compensation balance with two circular weights and two timing nuts, Airy’s bar with two smaller circular weights resting against the rim. Freesprung palladium helical hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. The movement secured to the gilt dial plate by three blue steel screws. Engraved signed and numbered silvered brass dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication. Broad Ministry arrow in the seconds subsidiary, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Signed and numbered turned brass bowl, sprung hinged dust cover to the winding aperture. Screw brass bezel with flat glass. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, numbered brass ratchet key. Two tier mahogany box, the top lid having been removed in common with most Ministry marine chronometers. Signed and numbered circular plaque with the broad Ministry arrow, folding brass handles.

White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, ribbed middle. Clip on back engraved with a coat of arms and monogram below. Inside a dedication to their son dated May 1929, maker’s mark "RO" in an oval, and number corresponding to that on the movement.

Gilt half plate keywind movement with reverse fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone, heavy compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling, escape, lever and seconds pivots with endstones. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiaries power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, fine blue steel fleur-dis-lis hands. Plain silver open face case, wound and set through the silver cuvette. Maker’s mark "HMF" in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement. The gilt button is fitted with Lund’s patent winding, a short steel shaft with a square. This is secured in the case when the back is closed by a steel pin.

The chapter ring on the front cover in light pink translucent enamel over an engine turned ground, dark blue Roman numerals. Around the chapter a border of blue forget-me-nots. The back cover similarly decorated, centred with a polychrome bouquet of flowers. Signed and numbered gold cuvette, maker’s mark “PP & Co” in a rectangle.

A 19th Century English verge in a silver half hunter pair cases. Full plate fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved round cock, polished steel regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance. Half hunter style white enamel dial with two concentric chapters of Roman numerals, only the inner showing unless the front cover is opened. Gold half hunter hands. Matching silver pair cases, the inner with a broad border to the front bezel, small glazed aperture at the centre. Silver pendant and bow, maker's mark “HWG” in conjoined circles and number corresponding to that on the movement.

English double roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones set in a circular bridge. The centre seconds pinion also with an endstone. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with centre seconds, sector below twelve for 30 hour power reserve indication. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker’s mark “JM” in an oval. Small gold hand set button under the back cover. Plain gold cuvette with apertures for winding and set by key if desired. Accompanied by a small morocco covered case with 9 carat gold repousse mask hallmarked Birmingham 1901. Easel stand for use as a desk clock.

Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground for the dial, gilt Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Circular diamond set bezel hinges from the bracelet with the movement and gold cuvette fitted with a small turnbuckle to wind the watch. The band of the bracelet formed from three tapered rectangular strands partly set with small diamonds. Hinged at the side, gold clasp with fine safety chain.

Fine gold and enamel case in the form of a beetle, the diamond and pearl set translucent red enamel wings opened by depressing a button in the tail to reveal the dial. The head chased and engraved with champleve black enamel, the eyes represented by green stones. The underside of the beetle realistically portrayed with finely chased and engraved legs applied to the hinged cover. Wound and set through the gold oval cuvette. Oval gold loop for a chain.
