Rare Gold Pocket Chronometer by Eiffe

A very rare chronometer with Eiffe’s auxiliary temperature compensation is a gold open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with blue steel Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved gilt barrel bridge with polished steel ratchet, click and spring. Engraved cock with diamond endstone, screwed to the table Eiffe’s auxiliary temperature compensation device. Unusual heavy compensation balance, the timing nuts on the inside of the rim. The bimetallic rims "D" shaped in section and the steel blued. Sections of the rim slotted to allow the screws to be held securely. Freesprung blue steel helical hairspring. Earnshaw type spring detent chronometer escapement, jewelled impulse pallet. Screwed in jewelling, escape pivots with endstones. Unusually the centre pinion is jewelled in the pillar plate but a plain brass bush in the top plate. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold hands with heart shaped tips. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker’s mark "SC" in a rectangle.

Rare Silver Deck Watch with Lund’s Patent Winding

A rare 19^th Century English reverse fusee freesprung lever with power reserve by Frodsham in a silver open face case with Lund’s patent winding. Gilt half plate keywind movement with reverse fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone, heavy compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling, escape, lever and seconds pivots with endstones. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiaries power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, fine blue steel fleur-dis-lis hands. Plain silver open face case, wound and set through the silver cuvette. Maker’s mark "HMF" in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement. The gilt button is fitted with Lund’s patent winding, a short steel shaft with a square. This is secured in the case when the back is closed by a steel pin.

Gilt three quarter plate centre seconds keyless movement with reverse fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Unusual plain skeletonised bridge cock with diamond endstone in a blue steel setting. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones set in a circular bridge. The centre seconds pinion also with an endstone. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with centre seconds, sector below twelve for 30 hour power reserve indication. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker’s mark “JM” in an oval. Small gold hand set button under the back cover. Plain gold cuvette with apertures for winding and set by key if desired. Accompanied by a small morocco covered case with 9 carat gold repousse mask hallmarked Birmingham 1901. Easel stand for use as a desk clock.

A late 19^th Century minute repeating moonphase calendar lever in a heavy gold full hunter case. Keyless nickelled bar movement with going barrel. Grained steel flyback chronograph work above the bridges. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs, repeating train and hammers fully jewelled. White enamel dial with flyback centre seconds chronograph. Subsidiaries for day, date and second, the month displayed in a small rectangular aperture below twelve o’clock. Gold and blue enamel moonphase disc visible through the aperture in the seconds subsidiary. Roman numerals, gold hands, decorative pierced gold hands for the day and date. Very substantial large plain 18 carat full hunter case with five joint hinges, maker’s mark “JL” in an oval. Gold button in the band at twelve for the flyback centre seconds chronograph which is disabled when the cover is closed. Gold slide at six o’clock for the minute repeating. Plain gold cuvette, glazed cover to the movement. Four steel levers in the front bezel to allow the calendar functions to be set.

An unusual late 19^th Century Swiss lever centre seconds chronograph in a silver open face case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, Arabic numerals for the chronograph, blue steel seconds hand, gilt hands. Plain silver open face case, silver cuvette, gilt crown. A button at 3 o’clock stops the second hand allowing the watch to continue running. The button at two o’clock returns the second hand to twelve. Recent red morocco covered case lined with red velvet.

Unusual Silver 24 Hour Dial Lever

A late 19^th Century Swiss lever with unusual 24 hour dial in a gilt open face case. Keyless gilt split three quarter plate movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Unusual dial, signed gilt mask with twelve circular apertures and seconds subsidiary, blue steel hands. The apertures in the mask either show black Roman numerals from one to twelve or red Arabic numerals thirteen to twenty four on a white enamel ring. The indication is changed by depressing a button in the pendant. Engine turned gilt open face case, vacant oval cartouche on the back.

White enamel dial with flyback centre seconds chronograph, subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gilt hands. Substantial plain 14 carat full hunter gold case. Large button at six o’clock for the minute repeat and a smaller button at two o’clock for the flyback chronograph. Gold cuvette engraved with details of the watch and medals won.

Silver Hunting Cased Erotic Automaton

A large early 20^th Century Swiss lever with concealed erotic automaton in a decorative silver full hunter case. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Silver full hunter case, both covers decorated in high relief, the front depicting a bust. The back with floral decoration marked “H Frsl Depose”. Opening the back and silver cuvette reveals a nun, apparently kneeling at prayer, receiving the attentions of a member of the clergy from behind. The scene springs to life when the silver slide in the band is activated.

Hebdomas type keyless eight day movement with the large resting barrel covering the back of the watch marked “8 Days” in a number of languages. Engraved bridge cock to below the dial, polished steel regulator. Uncut bimetallic balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial, gilt Roman numerals in dark blue enamel cartouches, gilt decoration either side of the chapter ring, pierced gilt hands. Gunmetal open face case damascened in silver and gilt floral decoration.

Rare Zenith Deck Watch with Decimal Dial

A mid 20^th Century Swiss centre seconds lever deck watch with rare decimal dial in a stainless steel case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless going barrel movement with centre seconds transfer work above. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Unusual white centre seconds dial. The longest blue steel hand rotates once a minute indicating on the outer ring marked in bold black Arabic numerals 1 – 10, the chapter divided into one hundred divisions. Within this the minutes marked in red to 60 and a smaller chapter for the hours marked to twelve in black. Blue steel hands for the seconds and hours, a red hand for the minutes. Plain stainless steel open face case with screw back and bezel, marked “Staybrite – Swiss Made” and the Zenith logo below. The back marked with the broad Ministry arrow, stores and serial numbers. “H.S.3” has been struck through with two lines.
