IWC Mark Eleven Wrist Watch

A mid 20^th Century Swiss centre seconds stainless steel British Army issue wrist watch by International Watch Company. Nickelled split three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel, ministry broad arrow mark. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, incabloc shockproof jewelling. Uncut balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed black dial with broad ministry arrow, centre seconds, luminous Arabic numerals and hands. Stainless steel case with screw on back marked with the broad ministry arrow and serial number “GB/6B346 – 1471/52”, marked “JWC – Stainless Steel – International Watch Co – Swiss”. When the winding button is pulled out to set the watch the balance is stopped (hack feature). On a black leather strap, grey nylon NATO strap also supplied.

Deep octagonal gilt metal case, long gilt pendant and ring bow. Single hammer for the alarm striking on the movement cover which acts as a bell.

Plain cock with shockproof jewelling, steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Alarm train with hammer striking the edge of the case. Signed gilt centre seconds dial with Arabic numerals, rectangular aperture to display the date. Rotating centre with small black arrow to indicate the alarm time, black hands with luminous markings. Circular gilt case with hinged easel stand. Fixed loop with buttons either side, one for the time, the other for the alarm. Signed circular black leather slip case.

A fine large 20^th Century Swiss lever deck watch with power reserve indication in a stainless steel case with deck box. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator. Guillaume compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape pivots with endstones. Additional mechanism to allow the watch to be used as a master timekeeper, the jewelled detent acting on a slotted wheel mounted on the escape wheel pinion. Signed and numbered silvered dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Large stainless steel case with electrical contact in the band. Clip on cuvette and bezel. Plain screw on back with Nardin makers mark. Signed and numbered three tier mahogany deck box with sprung electrical contacts and circuitry under the mahogany cover. Rating certificate from October 1961 indicating the watch has been set to sidereal time.

Plain cock with shockproof jewelling, plain three arm balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed gilt dial with the suits of playing cards at the quarters, black hands. Unusual gilt metal case in the form of a roulette wheel, the outer section with alternate red and black numerals and a single green zero, rotating freely. The game can be played by holding the centre with the watch between thumb and finger while running the edge of the wheel along a surface, the numeral indicated by a small arrow. The back cover printed “Casanova Club” .

Plain cock with steel regulator, shockproof jewelling, plain balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Engraved gilt oval dial, simple chapter of Roman numerals under a perspex glass, blue steel hands. Cast silver case in the form of a tulip, three cast silver hinged lids, silver loop. Maker's mark “SJHC” in a cloverleaf.

World Time Wristwatch

A late 20^th Century Swiss stainless steel wristwatch with world time indication. Nickelled 21 jewel lever movement with two arm plain balance, signed nickelled rotor. Dark blue centre seconds dial with calendar aperture, gilt Roman numerals, luminous hands. At the edge of the dial a ring rotating once every 24 hours indicating the current time in the twenty four different cities marked on the bezel. Stainless steel case, the signed back secured by six screws. Rotating front stainless steel bezel marked with cities around the world indexed with 24 positions. Marked as being water resistant to 30 metres.

Karrusel Wristwatch

An unusual early 21st Century Swiss karrusel wristwatch. Keyless manual movement with skeletonised cage containing the majority of the train revolving one every thirty minutes. Plain three arm gilt balance with spiral hairspring, shockproof jewelling. Lever escapement. Around the cage the bevelled edge forms the dial with Arabic numerals at the quarters, The seconds dial rotates with the movement, situated opposite the balance, steel hands. Aluminium and transluscent plastic case, the back ring with eight screws and a diamond set at twelve. Signed leather strap and aluminium buckle.

An unusual watch made in a limited edition of 2,222. Although described by Swatch as a Karrusel it appears that the train is driven directly from an annular gear. If so this is in fact a tourbillion.
