High quality 22 jewel 3992B model, damascened nickelled split three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator. Uncut balance with overcoil Elinvar-Exra hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Signed white dial with the broad Ministry arrow, centre seconds, bold black Arabic numerals and smaller numerals for the minutes, blue steel hands. Plain nickelled open face case with screw back and bezel, marked “Keystone – Base Metal”. The back marked with the broad Ministry arrow before the serial number and “Navigation Master Watch – Hamilton Watch Co.”. “H.S.3” has been struck through and the middle line overstruck with a new number. Glazed aperture to the mahogany deck box, brass clasp.

Gilt cock with diamond endstone, polished steel micrometer regulator. Compensation balance, the two arms placed centrally in the rims, four circular weights and two timing nuts. Blue steel overcoil hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape wheel under a separate bridge, pivots with endstones. Signed and numbered silvered brass dial, subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Turned brass bowl, sprung rotating shutter to the winding hole, screw brass bezel with flat glass. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism. Three tier brass bound mahogany box, folding brass handles, rectangular signed plate above circular numbered disc.

Additional mechanism to allow the watch to be used as a master timekeeper, the jewelled detent acting on a slotted wheel mounted on the escape wheel pinion. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve, the 24 marked in red to indicate when the watch should be wound, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Large stainless steel case with electrical contact in the band. Clip on cuvette and bezel. Plain screw on back with Nardin makers mark. Signed and numbered three tier mahogany deck box with sprung electrical contacts and circuitry under the mahogany cover. Rating certificate from May 1954 indicating the watch has been set to sidereal time. Mahogany keep case lined with green baize.
