Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Push button quarter repeating on two gongs. White dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Silver full hunter case, the covers decoratively chased and engraved. The cuvette cut away to reveal the later erotic scene fitted directly to the movement.. The parcel gilt and painted figures engaged in an amorous encounter spring to life when the repeat mechanism is activated.

A late 19^th Century Swiss cylinder with digital dial in a silver open face case. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Plain gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. White enamel dial with gilt decoration either side of the central aperture revealing the digital indication of minutes, a circular aperture above showing the hours and below these a small subsidiary seconds dial. The minutes change instantaneously as the seconds hand passes 60. Engine turned silver open face case with vacant shield shaped cartouche on the back cover, makers mark “GT” in an oval.

Silver Gilt Mystery Watch

A late 19^th Century Swiss mystery watch in a silver gilt double sided case. The gilt cylinder movement is relegated to the crescent shaped portion of the watch between the glass dial and the pendant. Keyless with going barrel, small plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, polished steel regulator. Glass dial with gilt Roman numerals, and minute markings, engraved silver gilt masks. The gilt hands are driven by a second glass disc which has a toothed wheel attached to its outer edge which engages the train. The miniature motion work for the hands is set between this glass disc and glass dial. There is no provision to set the hands apart from moving them manually, which is normal in these watches. Plain silver gilt case glazed back and front. Rectangular button in the band to release the sprung front cover, gilt crown.
