A late 19^th Century Swiss cylinder in a stone set gold and enamel full hunter case. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel, frosted steel wolfs teeth winding work. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Signed white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Gold full hunter case with engraved middle and trefoil bow. The front lid covered in black enamel with a border of small split pearls and garnets. Within this a band of floral decoration set with diamonds and a raised dome in the centre also set with diamonds. The back cover similarly decorated but the centre flat and decorated with garnets and diamonds. Plain gold cuvette.

Tortoiseshell Singing Bird Box

A late 19^th Century Swiss automated singing bird in a tortoiseshell box . Brass movement keywound through the base. Bellows and piston mechanism to vary the song of the bird. . The bird covered in iridescent humming bird feathers. Moving the gilt lateral slide on the front of the box causes the gold and enamel oval lid to open and the bird to hinge into an upright position. It starts its song, rotates left and right, flaps its wings and opens and closes its beak. Moving the slide to the left folds the bird back into the case and the lid closes. Tortoiseshell box with a compartment at the back with a hinged tortoiseshell lid. The top of oval gilt hinged cover to the bird decorated with a polychrome enamel floral scene. Inside a lakeside alpine scene. Gilt tooled red morocco box lined with purple velvet.

Gold and Enamel Beetle Form Watch

A fine late 19^th Century Swiss gold and enamel brooch watch in the form of a beetle. Heart shaped keywind gilt bar movement with suspended going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Small white enamel dial with black Roman numerals for the hours and blue Arabic numerals for the minutes, blue steel hands. Fine gold and enamel case in the form of a beetle, the diamond set translucent dark blue enamel wings opened by depressing a button in the tail to reveal the dial. The head chased and engraved with champleve black enamel, the eyes represented by diamonds. The underside of the beetle realistically portrayed with finely chased and engraved legs applied to the hinged cover. Inside the cover an oval glazed frame for a miniature portrait, wound and set through the gold oval cuvette. Engraved gold loop for a chain.

Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Slide quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Deep drum shaped double sided silvered case with ring bow.

Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Full hunter 18 carat case, both covers richly engraved and decorated with black champleve enamel. Rectangular scenes in the centre of the covers bordered by engraved frames. Engraved scalloped middle, gold cuvette with engraved dedication “Mary & Salley – Nov 29 1882”. Maker’s mark “B.W.C.Co” in a rectangle.

An unusually small late 19^th Century Swiss gold full hunter with double sided calendar. Keyless nickelled bar movement with frosted steel wolfs teeth winding work, going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman and Arabic numerals, gold hands. Under the back cover on the reverse side the day – date calendar indicated by gold hands on a white enamel ring dial. Steel set lever operated by a gold pin in the band. The calendar changed automatically by a polished steel pawl on the movement. Small plain 18 carat full hunter case, an engraved dedication on the back cover.
