French Repeating Gold and Enamel Chatelaine Watch
A small late 18th Century French quarter repeating cylinder in a gold and enamel consular case and chatelaine. Full plate gilt fusee movement with gilt dust ring. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock, garnet endstone in a polished steel setting. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Polished steel cylinder, large steel, escape wheel. Push pendant quarter repeating striking on two blocks in the case. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gold hands. Raised engraved brass edge to the dial signed “Ageron”. Gold and enamel consular case with gold push pendant and stirrup bow. Radially chased back with a circular polychrome enamel centre of floral decoration on a blue ground. Gold and enamel chatelaine. Hinged gilt clip to the buckle, polychrome ovals scene of cherubs on a blue background. Suspended from the buckle are three broad chains, decorated with translucent blue enamel oval shaped cartouches, and four fine pierced chains with diamond shaped cartouches. Central rectangular gold and translucent blue enamel cartouche centred by a small rectangular polychrome enamel scene of a reclining cherub within a border of split pearls. Three broad chains with translucent blue enamel oval shaped cartouches are supported by the cartouche, the centre one for the watch, the others for double sided gold and enamel oval decorations. The two long outer broad chains terminate in a key and a seal set with a plain cornelian both mounted on swivels and decorated with blue and white enamel.

Winding through the signed white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, decorative stone set hands. Fine gold consular case, gold pendant, number corresponding to that on the movement, stirrup bow. Bezels decorated with foliate green and white cloisonne enamel. Wide band or translucent orange enamel over an engine turned ground. Circular centre of cloisonne enamel on a matted gold ground.

Three Colour Gold Verge
A late 18th Century verge in a stone set three colour gold consular case. Full plate fire gilt movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Wound through the white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, stone set hands. Attractive 18 carat continental consular case. The back engine turned and decorated with applied three colour gold decoration, the scene framed by an oval border of white stones. Two colour gold bezel also set with a single row of white stones.
Unusually this continental case and dial uses an English movement. It shows no signs of being a replacement, the dial feet occupying the original holes in the plate. Pierced and engraved cock with diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Winding through the white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Unusual gold and enamel consular case, the bezels decorated with raised iridescent enamel dots to imitate split pearls. The back in translucent deep maroon enamel over a decorative engine turned ground bordered by a row of small white enamel dots. Sprung gold bezel opened by a pin at three, gold pendant and bow. Gold key, the engraved centre of two chased sheets, gold wire border. Fitted in a gilt tooled red morocco box signed “Asprey & Company”.

Unusual small full plate gilt fusee movement, the top plate constructed in sections giving more height for the repeating train and barrel. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel coqueret. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, blue steel index below, index on the plate. Rare virgule escapement, large brass escape wheel. Push pendant dumb quarter repeating on two blocks in the case. Winding through the white enamel dial with radially set Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Fine gold consular case, the bezel and back both set with a single row of large split pearls. Gilt decoration of an urn on the back on translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground. Matching macaroni gold and enamel chatelaine made up of four different shaped cartouches. All enamelled on both sides in various patterns, one bearing a small polychrome enamel scene. Red velvet covered presentation box signed for an Italian retailer.

Three of these repousse work, two depicting a cow on one side, a horse on the other. The fourth of these keys with large glazed apertures both sides and containing pictures of a cow and horseman. Discretely pierced to allow the bell to sound clearly, “a toc” button in the front bezel and a slide beneath for dumb repeat.

English Gold and Enamel Chatelaine Watch
A late 18th Century English verge in a gold and enamel consular case with matching chatelaine. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Winding through the fully restored white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Gold and enamel consular case, bezels decorated in blue enamel with a row of white enamel dots to imitate split pearls. The back with a restored oval cartouche painted “en grisaille” depicting the huntress Diana and Cupid. The cartouche bordered by a row of white enamel dots and translucent green enamel over an engine turned ground. Fine matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with gold and champleve enamel., the large oval cartouche similar to that of the watch depicting Greek muse Erato and cupid. Border of blue and white champleve enamel and below seven eyelets in a green enamel scollop shaped extension. Three gold and enamel chains support a smaller gold cartouche decoration matching that of the clip, gold spring clip with threaded safety collar for the watch. Four shorter chains, each with one gold and enamel link and a hinged gold spring clip with threaded safety collar. Small gold flask enamelled “en grisaille” on both sides with a small cameo. One clip vacant, lacking the cover to the spring. The other two chains with a gilt key and small carved heart shaped stone. Later black morocco covered presentation case lined with red velvet.

Three colour gold consular case with fully restored circular polychrome enamel portrait of a young lady on the back. Surrounding the portrait a band of applied gold work set with diamonds and green enamel. Sprung front bezel opened by pressing a pin recessed in the edge, rare concealed hinge. Gold push pendant and bow.
