Founded by Jonathan “Johnny” Wachsmann in 1973, Pieces of Time has proudly held its position as a leading name in the world of antique watches for over 50 years. What began as a passion for horology evolved into one of the most respected specialist dealerships in the industry.
In 1983, Alan Grant joined the business, sharing Johnny’s enthusiasm for both antique timepieces and innovation. Together, they brought rare and beautiful watches to collectors and dealers worldwide, initially through one of the UK’s earliest and most comprehensive mail-order catalogues.
In 1995, we embraced the digital future with the launch of antique-watch.com, establishing the first and largest dedicated antique watch website at a time when online shopping was still a novelty. Today, the site remains a cornerstone of the antique watch community, home to an ever-evolving selection of fine pieces and a valuable archive of over 17,000 images from past sales.

With hundreds of pocket watches on display and many more available from our extensive stock, our shop is just steps from Bond Street Station and near Oxford Street and Claridge’s Hotel.

Orders are shipped in our custom-designed Airboxes, fully insured from dispatch to delivery. Shipping is free on all items. We use the Royal Mail for UK shipments and DHL or UPS or Royal Mail Tracked and Signed for international orders.
