An unusual late 17th Century English verge, the silver champleve dial with sector for regulating the watch in silver pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with Egyptian pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock with mask, pierced and engraved foot. Plain steel balance. Signed silver champleve dial, blue steel and gilt sector of a disc visible below the twelve for regulating the watch with a female square. Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Silver pair cases, plain inner with split bezel, silver pendant and later ring bow, maker's mark “LD”. Plain outer with seven joint square hinge.
