Description
A large early 20th Century Swiss lever watch in a substantial silver and glass inkwell stand. Nickelled three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Large plain open face nickle case with gilt winding button. The watch secured in the silver top of the inkwell by a broad bayonet fit bezel. The silver housing on an unusual double hinged mechanism which allows the watch to be seen, dial up, when the inkwell is closed. Heavy square glass inkwell with champfered corners and geometrically cut base, the glass with an attractive yellow tinge.
