A very rare mid 19th Century Chinese market Swiss centre seconds cylinder in a pearl set gold case with matching key. Small keywind bar movement, plain signed steel plate with richly engraved gilt bridges and suspended going barrel, polished steel regulator, blue steel stop work and screws. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Signed white enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Unusual small open face case set over its entire surface with split pearls including the middle, pendant and bow. The back decorated with five graduated rows of split pearls, a cluster of split pearls in the centre. Wound and set through the glazed cuvette. Matching pearl set gold key. Velvet lined fitted red morocco case.
