Description
A mid 19th Century English quarter repeating duplex by Frodsham in a gold open face case. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Duplex escapement, brass escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Slide quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, gold hands. Engine turned 18 carat open face case, recessed gold slide in the ribbed middle close to the pendant. Wound and set through the signed and numbered gold cuvette, maker's mark “AN” in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
