Description
A late 19th Century Swiss cylinder in a fine diamond and garnet set fob watch with matching chatelaine. Keyless gilt bar movement, frosted steel wolf's teeth winding work, going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Gold open face case with plain gold cuvette. The back set with a large cabochon garnet surrounded by a row of diamonds. Diamond set oval bow. Matching gold chatelaine of pierced chased and engrave links, a fleur dis lis at the centre. On the buckle two oval cabochon garnets, also set in a row of diamonds. A representation of a gold crown stands above. The buckle with a hinged pin at the back to allow the watch to be worn as a brooch.
