A rare late 18th Century double sided French verge with visible balance.

Description
A rare late 18th Century double sided French verge with visible balance. Unusual gilt fusee movement with the plain gilt balance set centrally on the back within an engraved gilt border and under a polished steel bridge cock. Below the balance a polished steel plate set with faceted stones. Around the balance a polychrome enamel scene of a young girl carrying a basket. Below a signed white oval and above the index for the long polished steel regulator. Wound through the white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, gilt hands. White metal double sided case glazed on both sides.
