A fine late 18th Century Swiss calendar verge in a gold and enamel consular case and glazed protective outer. Unusual slim full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel regulator, broad index engraved on the plate. Convex white enamel dial, central date calendar with red Arabic numerals, large blue steel hand. Black Arabic numerals, fine gold Breguet hands. Gold and enamel consular case, gilt decorated translucent dark blue enamel bezels. Gold and enamel back with gilt decorated white border. Fine oval polychrome enamel scene of a lady with a boy and dog in a formal garden on translucent blue enamel over a ground of engine turning radiating from the centre. Gold bow and numbered pendant marked “PIG”. Gilt metal hinged frame glazed on the back to protect the enamel.
