Description
An early 20th Century Swiss eight day lever in a nickle open face case fitted in an unusual silver oval case. Gilt split three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. White enamel dial signed by the retailer, subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain open face case with gilt winding button. Unusual large plain silver English keep case. Plain convex hinged lid with aperture for the dial, engraved motif of a bird below, gilt interior. Silver oval frame for the base , maker's mark “H Brs” in a shield. Loose silvered metal slip plate drilled to allow the case to be fixed in position. Lined with green velvet.
