Description
An early 19th Century English rack lever with jewelled pivots in silver pair cases. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with signed gilt dust cover pierced for the table of the cock. Chased and engraved cock, representation of a serpent on the bell shaped table, garnet endstone in a blue steel setting, marked “Patent” on the foot. Blue steel Bosley regulator. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Screwed in jewelling to the third and fourth wheels. Rack lever escapement with adjustable slides to the lever pivots, escape pivots with endstones. White enamel dial marked “Patent”, subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, fine gold Breguet hands. Matching plain silver pair cases, silver oval pendant and bow, maker’s mark “IR”.
